Man has arm broken in Asian gang attack in Chorley

34 year old assaulted while walking dog

POLICE are appealing for information after a 34 year old man was assaulted by four men as he walked his dog in Chorley.
The assault took place between 1:00am and 1:30am on Sunday 11th August 2013 at the junction with Steeley Lane and Eastway.
One of the men has produced a knife and a second man has used a steering lock and struck the victim on his arm and across his back before kicking him and knocking him unconscious.
The victim has been found in the road by his partner after she returned home after dropping off friends. The dog was unhurt and ran home.
All four men are described as being Asian and police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
PC Thomas Jay said: “This is a horrendous and unprovoked assault which has left the victim with a broken arm, cuts and bruises.
“Nothing was stolen from the victim so the motive for the offence is still not clear at this stage. I’d appeal to anybody that witnessed this assault or with any information that could assist our investigation to contact Leyland CID on 01772 415844 or 101.”
